Dit project verloopt in fasen, waarbij op dit moment zowat twee derden van de geplande gebouwen zijn gerealiseerd. Daarbij gaat het om een immense hal met hoogtechnologische productielijnen voor ge\u00ebxtrudeerde polystyreen isolatieplaten (inclusief aangrenzende kantoren) en een magazijngebouw. De productiehal werd in Diamonds gemodelleerd met betonkolommen en dakliggers in gewapend beton, waarbij de betonkolommen een verende ondersteuning kregen om de krachten in de funderingspalen te berekenen. In aanvulling op de permanente belasting van het groendak en van de technieken die aan het dak worden opgehangen zijn voor een dergelijke constructie uiteraard de wind- en sneeuwlasten bepalend voor de dimensionering. Daar zijn de Diamonds wind- en sneeuwgeneratoren van onschatbare waarde, vermits je op die manier heel snel deze toch wel complexe belastingen kan invoeren in het rekenmodel.<\/p>\n\n<p>Mede door de grote overspanningen tot 36 meter bleken bij een eerste berekening van de productiehal de buigmomenten dermate groot dat voor de dakliggers moest worden overgestapt op spanbetonliggers. In verdere stappen werd dan ook nauw samengewerkt met de fabrikant om die voorgespannen elementen optimaal te dimensioneren op basis van de inwendige krachten die Diamonds aanlevert, en om de karakteristieken van die elementen terug te koppelen naar het Diamonds rekenmodel. Al bij al waren dus wel enkele iteraties nodig om te komen tot een constructief ontwerp, maar dat hoeft uiteraard niet te verbazen bij een gebouw met dergelijke afmetingen. Naast de klassieke berekeningen voor de dimensionering van dragende elementen in beton en staal was hier ook de berekening van de absolute doorbuiging van de dakplaat van groot belang. Dit gebouw werd inderdaad rondom uitgevoerd met grote glaspartijen aan binnen- en buitenzijde. Om die met de nodige speling te plaatsen is het uiteraard van groot belang om de vertikale doorbuigingen in bruikbaarheidsgrenstoestand in te schatten met Diamonds.<\/p>\n\n<div
